MobiFren Growth (2009-Current)
Bluetooth headset & smartphone application -
Starting with the development of the GBH-S300, MobiFren began to grow in earnest. Compared to competitors' Bluetooth products, MobiFren's products adopted flash-type memory instead of ROM-type memory, enabling a variety of application functions. Since the product characteristics required portability — small and light — there was a physical limitation on buttons or displays for controlling many functions.

Car-Kit ver.2
In the early days, we developed a Car-Kit product using the FM Transmitter function, and later developed a new CAR-KIT product that attaches to the sun visor. By applying a motion detection sensor, the power automatically turns on/off depending on whether movement is detected in the vehicle, improving convenience. The standby time was also dramatically extended to 66 days. This product is in high demand in countries that strictly regulate in-vehicle phone use, and continues to sell steadily in Japan and Europe.
Opening Our Ears to Sound Quality!
- NeckBand Type's Bluetooth headset -
Following the GBH-S4000 necklace type, MobiFren began developing a more popular neckband type. The GBH-S500 introduced an asymmetrical design that differed from existing products, received strong reviews, and was exported to France, a market sensitive to design. Later, the S500 was upgraded with retractable earphone cables so users could pull out the earphones when needed and have the cables automatically roll back when not in use. The GBH-S710 and GBH-S700 improved cable storage convenience, while the S700 series added a microSD slot that allowed it to function as a standalone MP3 player even without a phone connection. It also added features suited to the neckband form factor, including walkie-talkie app integration and open APIs for adding vibration to mobile games.
- A Decisive Win in Sound Preference Tests -
Beyond its many functions, the mobile headset's biggest strength was sound quality that surpassed premium wired earphones. In blind listening tests comparing sound quality against wired earphones priced around one million KRW, 76% of participants on Garosu-gil in Sinsa, Seoul chose the MobiFren headset. At CES 2015 in Las Vegas, 92% of global participants also chose the MobiFren Bluetooth headset over premium wired earphones.
- SM Series Bluetooth headset -
MobiFren Bluetooth headsets established themselves not as simple phone accessories, but as premium wireless audio devices. Built on sound tuning technology and convenience features that are difficult to imitate, MobiFren created a new lineup. The SM (Sound Master) series became the first in Korea to receive Apple certification and apply MFi, making app-linked functions that had previously been available only on Android phones available to iPhone users as well.
The sound quality of the SM series was recognized by beyerdynamic, a German audio specialist with a 90-year tradition, leading to an initial export contract of $700,000, and it continues to receive strong interest from major buyers in the UK, France, and other overseas markets.
